Have you ever tried to do something but you thought it would be too hard so you just wanted to give up?

Here’s another question. Can you remember a time when you were like that little engine and you just kept trying until you did it?

There is a Bible verse that says, “Whatever you do, work at it as if you were doing it for the Lord and not for men.” Colossians 3:23

There’s also a great verse in the Bible that says, “Those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

These verses are God encouraging us to be like that little engine.  We are created to serve God and others. That’s why we’re here. God can give us strength to do a lot of things that we would never dream was possible. So remember this story.  And remember those verses.

If you see someone with a great need and you think you might be able to help him or her, even though it looks very hard and you think maybe someone else should help, then listen to your heart.  It may be saying “I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.” And the chances are pretty good you will hear God’s voice in your head saying “I know you can, I know you can, I know you can. “
