STORIES: Guess How Much I Love You

The countdown to our December 15th deadline is on! There’s only 17 days left to send a classic children’s book to a child in Kenya and/or Haiti for Christmas. Each book contains a special Biblical message by our founder, Lanny Donoho (see example below). You can also include a personalized message of encouragement to the child that receives the book from you and your family. A gift of $15 will send one book, while $25 will send two. Guess How Much I Love You

It’s really hard sometimes to say how much you love someone.  Little Nutbrown Hare and Big Nutbrown Hare tried to say it by stretching their arms out and stretching their legs out and then by seeing how BIG things were so they could try to explain it.

The moon is a long, long way from the earth, so they thought that was about as big as you can get.

Have you ever wondered how much God loves you?  Think about this…  God made the earth. He made the moon. He put all the stars in the heavens and they are so far away you could never get to them in a thousand million years.  So if God made all of the stars in the universe, imagine how much He loves you if He stretched out His great big arms and said, “I love you this much!”

A long time ago He actually did that. He stretched out His arms and let people nail His hands to a cross and put a spear in His side.  And when He died on the cross, with His arms open wide, He was saying, “I love you this much.”

The Bible says in John 3:16 “for God so loved the world (this means you) that He gave his only son.”

He loved you so much He was willing to die so that you can live forever.  And now you don’t have to guess how much He loves you.
