Meet Chris Joiner

Our New CEO

Friends, what a wonderful season of growth we are experiencing here at The 410 Bridge!

For those I haven’t had yet had the pleasure of meeting, my name is Chris Joiner.

I’ve had the privilege of working at The 410 Bridge for the past two years, first as Director of International Programs, then transitioning to President in 2023. Today, I am incredibly blessed to step into the role of CEO.

As we begin this exciting journey as an organization, I want to share more about who I am, my heart for our mission, and where we are headed this year.

What to Know About Me

Born and raised in Amarillo, Texas, I’ve been a Georgia resident for 17 years.

Before joining The 410 Bridge, I worked with organizations focused on community development and missions, including Campus Crusade, Passion City Church, and Family Legacy.

I am proudly and happily married to my wonderful wife of 17 years, and together we have the joy of raising two young daughters who inspire us every day. As a family, we want to be known as people who serve first. We believe we are called to love and to be of service to others just as Jesus did. One of the ways we live this out is by serving together as a family in one of our partner countries every year. Last year, we spent eight days in Mutirithia, Kenya and this month we will be headed to one of our newest communities in the Dominican Republic.

For me, our mission at 410 Bridge is not just a statement – it is a way of life. Each of us – no matter what age – can and should use the gifts we’ve been given in service of someone else so that Christ may be seen, experienced, and exalted through us.

In the Year Ahead

Our mission at 410 Bridge is – and will always be – to redefine the war on poverty through Christ-centered community development. This year, we will continue this mission through three key areas of impact:

  1. Expanding Our Reach

As you may know, we are currently partnered with communities in Kenya and Guatemala. This year, we will be expanding our reach and our impact to Indonesia, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic.

These are some of the most vulnerable parts of the world, where poverty persists, and the light of Jesus is desperately needed. As we move into these countries, we will use our Christ-centered community development model to create sustainable change in five critical areas: Economic Development, Education, Health, Spiritual Development, and Water. We are stepping into this new season with faith and anticipation, prayerfully preparing for the work ahead and inviting you to join us in this incredible journey.

Both Indonesia and Nicaragua offer unique opportunities to serve and bring hope to communities in need. While navigating these regions requires thoughtful preparation and understanding of the local context, we are inspired by the resilience and strength of the people who call these places home. Indonesia presents an incredible opportunity to shine the light of the Gospel in a region where religious freedom is limited, and Christianity faces unique challenges. Despite these realities, we are confident that we can help transform lives and bring hope, even in the most unexpected places.

These partner communities will serve as a light on a hill—a beacon of hope that other communities can look to for inspiration and a new way forward. We are filled with expectation and excitement for the incredible stories of lives changed that lie ahead.

  1. Partnering with Churches

Continuing our current approach, we will focus on partnering with more churches and building The 410 Bridge brand as a trusted partner for international missions. Just as our co-founder and current Chairman of the Board, Kurt Kandler, says, we must continue to change how the Western Church interacts with global poverty. Many churches want to make an impact beyond their community, but lack the experience and resources to create sustainable, lasting change. This is where our organization can come alongside them, establish deep relationships, and make a difference for the Kingdom together.

  1. Pioneering New Solutions to Global Poverty

We are always looking for innovative ways to address the needs of the communities we serve. As we move forward, we remain committed to pioneering new solutions and adapting to meet the challenges of global poverty. Our goal is to lead the way in sustainable, Christ-centered community development.

More to Come

Whether you’ve been a part of the 410 Bridge community since the beginning, for a few years, or perhaps you’re just joining in, I am so grateful you are here.

This is truly an exciting season of growth, built on years of remarkable impact. From the outpouring of support during last year’s end-of-year giving, to our expansion into new countries, this year is off to a great start with even more to come.

It is a great honor to serve as CEO, and I hope you’ll walk with us as we continue this journey together. I’ll be sharing updates regularly throughout the year, so make sure to subscribe to our newsletter and let’s keep the conversation going.

Many blessings,

Chris Joiner

New Year: Next Level Ministry

A New Year frequently evokes a multitude of emotions, deeply influenced by various reasons based on the season of life one is at. For many, it symbolizes a rejuvenating fresh start—a precious opportunity to release the burdens of the past and embrace the future brimming with hope. This transition evokes excitement, particularly for school-age children returning to the classroom after a long break from school in November and December here in Kenya. While children are thrilled to reunite with their classmates and dive back into the classroom environment, they may also grapple with a sense of déjà vu; the inevitability of returning to homework, assignments, and the pressure of upcoming exams can cast a shadow over their eagerness for new beginnings.
