Snapshot: Haiti Deaf Village team building

Members of the Haiti Deaf Village Leadership Council have enjoyed learning about the components of good leadership as they have grown together, becoming more and more effective at skills such as communication, conflict resolution and teamwork.

To help them prepare for the upcoming move to the Leveque permanent housing, the 410 Bridge October 2011 service team led them through a training activity that was entertaining for all. Two teams were challenged to cross an imaginary river, using a few stepping stones to get their whole team across. The first team to make the crossing without members falling into the water was the winner. Both teams demonstrated examples of leadership, teamwork, helping one another and cheering each other on. The crowd roared when one team just barely claimed victory!
