About El Pajal
El Pajal gets its name from a type of plant that grew in the area in the past before the land started being used to grow coffee. This plant was used to make thatched roof houses before concrete and brick were available in the community.
This area produces one of the best coffees in the world. It has won many awards at international coffee fairs. Some community members have small businesses and masonry is a popular occupation. There are several known music groups and musicians from the community. This community is very supportive of each other, and willing to help one another without expecting anything in return.
El Pajal has partnered with 410 Bridge since 2017.

The village of El Pajal in the municipality of San Antonio Huista, department of Huehuetenango located in the western highlands of Guatemala.
