This morning, an article in the Daily Nation reported that a grenade was lobbed into a nightclub in downtown Nairobi and 14 people were injured. The nightclub is a “low-level” venue and not someplace where Americans or westerners are known to congregate. The CID informed our Country Director that the motive of the attack was not known, but the article in the Daily Nation states that the police linked the attack to recent threats made by the Somali El Shabab insurgents.
