How Ndibai Is Leading Its Own Change

At 410 Bridge, our goal is simple: empower communities to thrive independently.

Ndibai is a remarkable example of this vision in action. As this community prepares to graduate next year, we’re excited to share the incredible progress they’ve made—and how your support has played a part in their journey.

Here’s an update from Edwin below:

Clean, Affordable Water for All

The water project in Ndibai, completed in 2016, has been a lifeline for the community. With over 128 households—about 80% of the population—now able to access clean and safe water within a 30-minute round trip, the impact is clear.

Recently, when rising electricity costs threatened the sustainability of the water project, the Water Management Committee stepped in. Using savings from water sales and mobilizing additional funds from community members, they installed a solar-powered water pumping system with some support from 410 Bridge.

This solution has already reduced water costs from Ksh. 120 per unit to less than Ksh. 100 and cover the electricity bill. This is community-led problem-solving at its best—and a perfect example of how your support multiplies hope across the community, far beyond the initial project.

Investing in Education

Education is another area where Ndibai is taking the lead. Parents at Ole Sultan Primary School came together to mobilize resources for renovations, then partnered with 410 Bridge for additional support. As a result, a new school gate was built, classrooms were renovated with tile installations, and the school was fenced—creating a safe, welcoming environment where students can focus on learning.

Every child who benefits, every teacher empowered, and every family encouraged represents hope multiplying through knowledge, skills, and opportunity.

Programs That Still Need Support

Ndibai is almost at the finish line, but your help is needed to ensure they complete all programs and graduate as a thriving, independent community. Donations support initiatives that strengthen livelihoods, leadership, education, health, and spiritual growth. Each donation doesn’t just meet an immediate need—it multiplies hope through agricultural and business training, leadership development, school improvements, youth and family programs, and health practitioner trainings, creating an impact that continues to grow in people’s lives long after the initial gift.

Help Ndibai Cross the Finish Line

With your support, Ndibai can complete these programs and graduate next year as a self-sufficient, thriving community. Every donation multiplies hope, extending far beyond the community, beyond a program, beyond measure.

Pray for the Future

Please continue to keep Ndibai in your prayers—for wisdom for local leaders, strength for families, and success for the programs that will secure a bright, independent future. Together, we celebrate all that Ndibai has accomplished, and the multiplying hope that is still to come.

Why Our New Kiu Case Study Matters

Seeing real, long-term transformation is the heart of why we do community development. It’s one thing to launch programs or build infrastructure, but it’s entirely another to watch a community continue to grow and thrive on its own after we step back.

That’s why we now have a new Kiu case study — to show what sustainable, community-led development looks like when it really works.
